As part of our service to the community, we have been visiting local pre-schools and daycare centres to give the children an exciting presentation about dentists and oral hygiene. We cover a number of fun topics including:

What a dentist wears to work

The tools the dentist uses

How and when to brush your teeth

Everyday and Sometimes foods

Peppa Pig visits the dentist

Dressing up like a dentist!

I find the children enjoy the presentation more if they are allowed to participate so the presentations can become a quite loud at times which is great!

A lot of children are very informed when it comes to good and bad foods and when to brush their teeth.

The aim is to prevent a negative aura surrounding a child's first dental visit. The dentist should be a fun and safe environment where the dentist is there to provide information to the child and their parents as well as assure they have a clean and healthy smile and know how to maintain it!
